It sure was a wet day.
When it rains in Athens it sure rains.
But in spite of the weather some hardy AH3 stalwarts gathered outside the MONASTERY and realised we were allowed entrance free of charge to cleanse our soles (and not the feet ones).
So prior the run most availed themselves of this penitence.

Then FAIR COP called the pack to order and off we all went.
I took the 5 walkers off down the road towards the Botanical Gardens but alas when we tried to enter these gardens the gate officials said MT GOATS new granddaughter was not allowed in as she was not potty trained. So KUM KWIK had no option but to take her back to his car.

Meanwhile myself with Uncle HAMISH progressed through the huge park in the driving rain getting wetter and wetter  until we found the 2nd World War memorial to all the executed Greeks that occurred in sept 1944 - a most emotive site. And as for the runners lead by COKE DEALER - in tears because her parents and uncle had returned briefly to the UK plowed their weary way through mud and more  mud. ABSOLUTE back from goodness knows where kept calling in her native OZ accent. The ancient RIM JOB tried his best to keep up with the pack. And so both the runners and walkers arrived back at almost the same time - well down both hares - one of whom was me!!

Then a brief circle in still pouring rain

Then Off to the local taverna where an excellent meal was had - the hot beetroot and fava were A1 - and the cost a modest 15 euro   Future hares take note  The AH3 does not appreciate expensive Tavernas.
