Directions for this Sunday 10th November
Start
Time: The 5km Road Race starts at 08:15am
Start Point: Amalias Avenue; in front the Zappeion Megaro entrance and the Eurobank
building (Mposodaki premises); near Syntagma Square
THE PLAN:
From Syntagma Square, cut across the National Gardens to the Zappion building.
MEET next to the AVRA BALLOON outside (and usually just in front) of the Zappion
building front entrance at or before 07.50 for a quick chat.
Pin on your bib and then deposit your bag with a change of clothes at the bag
storage area (to the left of the Zappion building when facing the entrance).
At 08.00 (ish) head for your block ready to start the run.
After the run, You will need your BIB to retrieve your bag from storage, so
dont lose it.
Then, after having a browse round the various stands (including Avra) to burn
some time...
MEET at the usual place IN THE STADIUM, half-way down on the right-hand side
(10.00 am or after).
Well hold a mini-circle, then watch the first marathon runners arrive
in the stadium a little after 11.00 am
After watching the first Greek runners arrive, we can head off for lunch at
the James Joyce Irish Pub.

Starting blocks: ?he latest 15 minutes before the start, the runners should
be found in the appropriate starting blocks.
For the facilitation and safety of the participants, the runners will start
their race in waves, allocated in thirteen (13) different starting blocks. There
will be certain time delay between start waves.
ATTENTION: Based on the above, the runners should take place in the appropriate
starting block, as indicated on their bib number. The runners should not worry
as their net running time will also be recorded.
TIME LIMIT TO FINISH THE RACE
The 5km Road Race is concluded at 10.00am, by when all runners should have reached
the finish line.
