THE RACE
Runners are organized in "blocks" along Stadiou street leading to Syntagma Square
Block-8
is brought forward after block-7 has set off.

The huge number of runners (just in Block-9) are passing through the starting arch.
All the timing chips (glued behind the BIB numbers) are recorded as runners pass through the arch, so the runner's individual start times are noted.
