The grass snake (Natrix natrix), sometimes called the ringed snake or water snake, is a Eurasian non-venomous snake.
It is often found near water and feeds almost exclusively on amphibians (and an occasional hasher).

The route around the nature reserve (path in orange) crosses the river via the bridge shown in the photo below.

We reach the beach and pass the Vavrona Nautical Club building

The walkers do some extra distance as Coke Dealer's Fitbit wrist activity tracker said she had to walk 10,000 steps.

Are things getting weird in this digital age?

2. Go past Fair Cops house in Loutsa [if you know where it is….] and keep going for 3km, pass the big hotel, then turn left on the dirt road…
3. Full Directions coming via Markopoulou:

From the North:
Take the Attiki Odos toward Markopoulo, pass the turning for the Airport and
follow the signs for Markopoulo. There are three sets of traffic lights
allowing left turns...take the third set and turn left, then continue as **
below.

From the South:
From Glyfada, through Vari, to Koropi. Turn right and right again toward
Markopoulo. At the traffic lights in Markopoulo, you want to go straight
across, then continue as ** below.

** From the lights:
Markopoulo has a difficult one way system!
Pass the "South Park" cafe on the left, and at the next junction   there is a
petrol station on the opposite corner. Turn left here.
Follow this road, across the lights, until you reach the "No Entry" sign.
Turn right because you have to.
Follow this road to the T-Junction, with a café opposite, and turn left.
You are now on the road out of Markopoulou, heading for Porto Rafti.
Pass "ElectroNet" on the right , At the traffic island, turn left towards Artemis.
Follow the Artemis road through the back country for about 6km, then take
the left fork at the junction, signposted for  Loutsa / Artemida
Follow this road for another 1km, to a sharp left turn, where there is an unsigned dirt road to the sea.  We meet along this dirt road.
The (very popular) Fish Taverna is next to where we will park.

***Important***
It will take you at least 35 minutes from Mesogeion, or at least 20 from the Airport
