Venue: Boeing 720, Serial 18356 SX-DBK, Operator: Club B 720, Remarks: burnt out on Mount Parnitha (1/2007)

Purpose of the run: to discover if wreck still exists.

 

Flight Instructions:

 

Get yourself on the National Road Athinon – Thessalonikis (Athens to Salonica)

 

If you will be coming from Athens and the southern suburbs or you will be marching in the opposite direction (i.e. coming from Salonica or even from the northern suburbs of Athens) between km 10 and 11 follow the signs pointing to the Exit to the METAMORFOSIS flyover and from there to Mount PARNITHA: you will be now on the beginning of TATOIOU street (GPS freaks: 38^o 4’ 14.33” N and 23^o 45’ 36.17” E).

After about 1 km TATOIOU bends to the right (there exist traffic lights): but you must keep going straight onto KARAMANLI Ave.

Continue on this road for about 4.5 km, where KARAMANLI slightly bends to the right and meets the PARNITHOS road, that goes straight up for about 2 km, then bends first to the left and immediately after to the right. At this point look for HHH signs pointing to the left side of the road and to the parking lot where the run will start.

Lost?: continue driving on Parnithos road till you reach the top of the mountain. Enjoy the view from there, then make a “U” turn and go back home OR call M.G. (mob. 6973 33 01 67)
